The Ultimate Garden Party
As the weather started heating up and sunny days were aplenty, we knew a garden party needed to happen.
We teamed up with some of Houston's most stylish creatives to throw, what Paper City Magazine called "Houston's ultimate garden party"!
Caroline Harper Knapp of House and Harper, Marie Flanigan of Marie Flanigan Interiors, Marcia Smart of Smart in the Kitchen, Meg Grant of Meg Grant & Co., Maria Maxit of Maxit Flower Design, and I came together focusing on each of our perspective areas of expertise.
I focused on the table setting, drinks, dessert, and overall flow of the event. With the gorgeous backyard designed by Marie Flanigan Interiors as our backdrop, it was an dream!
The Table Setting
When entertaining outdoors, its important to bring in natural fibers. I chose to use our Signature Linen Pom Pom Table Runner and coordinating napkins from our Spring Box and accented with vintage plates and glassware. To really make the table setting "pop" I used formal silverware from a local vintage shop, Black Cat Junction, to contrast against the casual outdoor setting.
I went with three signature recipes, which I pulled from our current Mostess Booklet and the ingredients were from our Spring Box. Meg Grant & Co designed a beautiful rustic menu sign for the drinks. Guests enjoyed our Spring Bubbly, Day Tripper, and Spring Palmer expertly crafted by our bartender from Palace Party Beverage Co. It’s always nice and easy for guests if you choose two to three signature drinks. It keeps things simple and allows you to keep your guests interested in the party as opposed to being distracted with a full bar set up. Of course, we always recommend keeping iced water on hand as well.
Nothing says garden party like a display of sweet treats! I worked with Susie Cakes Bakery to design four mouthwatering cakes for our party. We chose cakes with spring colors and fun, bright flavors. We then accented with a custom selection of matching macrons by Macron by Patisse. When displaying desserts, I love to use an eclectic mix of cake stands and serving vessels to create a eye catching design.
Guests were first welcomed into the kitchen with a slice of cake and then directed to the outdoor bar for a signature drink. Food was displayed on both the outdoor coffee table and the dining table. It created a well-balanced flow and guests could easily mix and mingle, both inside and out.
Between the dreamy backyard, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and beautiful décor, it was the perfect spring morning!
