Island Inspired Summer Tablescape
I'm so excited to share one of my all-time favorite tablescapes for summer hosting.
Sometimes styling a table can seem overwhelming, but I promise you only need to focus on 3 things. Scroll through for styling, hosting tips and a little island inspiration!
3 Essentials Tips for your Summer Table Decor!
At Mostess we like to keep things simple (but still swoon-worthy!). Every tablescape should have three basic components: Table Covering, Place Settings, Centerpiece. That's it!
1. TABLE COVERING
Our partners at Turkish-T have the perfect summer textile. If you have a modest sized table (like mine) you can use a Turkish beach towel as a tablecloth. If your table is larger in scale, simply fold the towel (horizontally) and use it as a table runner. The soft natural texture creates small wrinkles and waves that will give your tablescape a laid-back look. Snag this exact beach towel on our shop!
2. PLACE SETTINGS
The phrase "place settings" brings to mind an old, antiquated table. One where you are expected to sit up straight and refer to strict rules of etiquette--but not at Mostess! We like to take a fresh spin on hosting. So for the place settings I used Monstera leaves from my local florist, and layered my dinner plates and appetizer plates. The playful detailing keeps both the guests and hostess feeling relaxed!
For glassware, I used stemless wine glasses as water glasses. You can find these island themed stemless wine glasses in our shop!
3. CENTERPIECE
I used a simple wood tray, key limes, and fresh flowers! Be sure to trim flowers short so you can still see guests across the table.
THE EXTRAS FOR YOUR SUMMER TABLE DECOR:
After the tablescape trio is complete, you can have fun by adding a few personal touches. Our resident calligrapher, Amber, used cream colored tiles to create tropical place cards. For a refreshing pre-dinner treat, we placed key lime cookies on each plate. For an extra pop of island style, I used utensils with bamboo details.
