Homemade Strawberry Granita

This homemade treat is simple to make and the ultimate cool down as summer heats up! The recipe below serves three, but you can double or triple the recipe if you're expecting a larger crowd!

Homemade Strawberry Granita

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup filtered water
  • 2 cups hulled and diced strawberries
  • Juice from half a lime
  • Lime zest and mint

Blend sugar and water in blender until sugar is dissolved. Add in strawberries and lime juice and blend until smooth. Pour into freezer safe dish and let freeze for 2 hours. Remove from freezer and gently scrap mixer towards the center of the dish using a fork. Place back in freezer for 45 minutes. Remove and scrap again until you get a grainy texture. Freeze for another 45 minutes if needed. Serve and garnish with fresh mint and lime zest. Makes about 3 servings. Recipe can be doubled to serve more, but might need more time to freeze. Monitor as needed
