Guest Mostess: Ashley Brooke Shares the best Hot Chocolate You Will Ever Have

It's officially the holiday season and I'm excited to share two of my favorite things: hot chocolate and Ashley Brooke Designs. I've personally been following Ashley Brooke since her early days as a blogger and product designer. She has since transformed her brand into one of the most well-rounded lifestyle brands around. To say we have a boss babe crush on ABD is an understatement. Today, Ashley is sharing her dairy-free and vegan hot chocolate. It's delicious and healthy. What more could you want this holiday season? Enjoy the recipe and personal message from Ashley on how to style and treat your guests this season!

VEGAN HOT COCOA

  • 2.5 cups of coconut milk
  • 1/3 cup of 100% Ghiradelli unsweetened cocoa powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 tbsp of coconut sugar

Heat the coconut milk in a sauce pan on medium. Once hot (not boiling) whisk in the cocoa powder. Then add in the rest of the ingredients. Whisk together until everything is combined, pour, and serve! Feel free to add more sugar or salt to the recipe to give it an extra punch! Top with toasted marshmallows.

"One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is turn the lights down low so the Christmas tree really sparkles, don my most comfy pajamas, and grab my latest read (or favorite movie) along with a hot cup of hot cocoa! Since I enjoy doing this just about every single night in December, I had to think of a way to make it just a tiny bit healthier, so that is where this particular recipe came from.

I've also served this at many a house party and it's always a hit! You can leave it simmering over the stove or in a crockpot. Both ways work great and I usually let guests ladle it out themselves throughout the evening. A fun twist when serving hot cocoa is to set up a "hot cocoa bar" with all the accouterments - sweet toppings like peppermint shavings, sprinkles, whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate chips, and cinnamon. Your guests will love getting to build their own cup!" - Ashely Brooke
